How it works?

"" was created with a simple goal in mind: find and display one top science news story of the day. The unique part of the system is that it is completely automated. There are no human editors in the background, only the computer decides which story creates the most buzz in almost real-time.

"a bit of Science" uses completely automated algorithms to display the most popular science news of the day. To do so, it evaluates several news parameters like the number of news sources a story appeared in, date of publication, etc. It can also automatically match news stories to appropriate categories based on news content.

We continuously crawl hundreds of news sources to decide which story should appear on the front page in the next update.

Please let us know if you have any suggestions for improvement or suggest a news source.
